FAME hosts an entertaining and enlightening annual luncheon at the Duquesne Club in Downtown Pittsburgh to celebrate the successes of FAME Scholars and Alumni each year. This event serves to bring together FAME families, board members, distinguished members of Pittsburgh's corporate and foundation communities, and generous supporters.

FAME held the 13th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 11:30am-1:30pm at The Duquesne Club. The luncheon celebrated the 16th Anniversary of the minority scholarship program and honored the 62 FAME Scholars who attended the six participating independent schools at that time. Kenneth R. Melani, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Highmark, Inc., served as the Keynote speaker, Bryan McCabe, Director of L.A.M.P., was awarded FAME’s Andrew W. Mathieson Award, Alyia Smith-Parker (member of FAME Alumni graduating from The Ellis School in 2006) provided the alumni reflection, and all of the graduating seniors (Gabriel Beru, Stacy Kamumbu, Jatara McGee, Shante McWhite, Lamar Pickett) and St. Edmund’s Academy 8th grade students (Erin Roberson, Zenzele Viorla, Isreal Williams) participated.

In addition to the FAME Scholars and their families, guests included members of the FAME Board of Trustees, individual donors and internship, corporate, and philanthropic partners, including The Pittsburgh Foundation, The McCune Foundation, The Hillman Foundation, The Heinz Endowments, Enterprise Holdings, and Giant Eagle, Inc. The 13th Annual FAME Luncheon provided a great opportunity to acknowledge the support and contributions of these individuals and organizations and showcase the success and achievements of our scholars.
