FAME has served over 130 students over the course of the last 16 years. Sixty-five of those students are currently enrolled in one of our six participating independent schools. Students involved with the program are African American and reside in Allegheny or surrounding counties. All of these students are bright, talented, and self-motivated, and offer a unique and valued perspective to their school community.

Seventy-one FAME Scholars have now graduated from high school, the first in 1999, and 100% of those students have gone on to attend college. FAME Scholars have attended prestigious universities across the country, including Harvard University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, George Washington University, Duke University, Spelman College, Vanderbilt University, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University Honors College, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Students have majored in areas such as medicine, business, accounting, law, Japanese, communications, and engineering. Forty of these scholars have already graduated from college and are thriving in their chosen professions as teachers, financial advisors, marketing consultants, community outreach organizers, government administrators. Some are even pursuing graduate degrees. These students haven taken full advantage of the opportunity they have been given and have put their education to good use.
