Support Services

In order to ensure the academic success of each student and to assist students in closing the educational gaps that exist between their public school and current academic experience, some students may request individualized tutoring as needed. FAME supports scholars by absorbing the cost of such tutoring, assuring that students do not fall behind and are able to maintain their stride and academic confidence through transitional periods.

Students have individual school advisors who provide academic counseling as needed. However, FAME Scholars are also assigned a faculty liaison to help monitor and support their needs, increasing their potential for success. FAME's executive director and staff also direct and guide students on an informal basis, as well as provide them with a variety of educational and career development opportunities internally, via their schools and in the community. FAME actively educates scholars on strategies to meet their academic and career goals and advocates on behalf of FAME Scholars whenever necessary. FAME's executive director meets formally with all students by school cohort groups at least four times per year.
