FAME Community Events
Annual BBQ
FAME's Annual BBQ brings together FAME families, scholars and alumni to increase fellowship within FAME's partner schools. The Annual BBQ serves as an opportunity to network with other families and emphasizes the importance of community as it relates to academic success and development.
Fall Gathering
While this event has historically been held at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, the 2011 Gathering took place at the Heinz History Center. The Fall Gathering is designed to provide all African American families attending area independent schools the opportunity to come together, share experiences and become better acquainted. The day begins with a program featuring presentations by a keynote speaker and a current FAME Scholar which concludes in plenty of time for families to visit and enjoy the zoo or the History Center.
