Ashley Jones
"Being a part of FAME has allowed me to understand and appreciate the importance of giving back. With the help of FAME, I have grown so much as a student and young adult and I am eager to be a part of the growing community that is committed to the growth and success of FAME's future."
Ashley Jones became a member of the FAME family upon entering the ninth grade and has been an active part of FAME ever since. She is a member of the Winchester Thurston Class of 2009. During her time at Winchester, Ashley played Varsity Field Hockey, in which she earned two Varsity Letter Awards and was the Diversity Club Leader. Ashley was also chosen through the school’s essay contest three years in a row to participate in the National Association of Independent Schools’ Student Diversity Leadership Conferences (which were held in Seattle, Washington, Boston, Massachusetts, and New Orleans, Louisiana). After attending the second event, Ashley helped to facilitate a workshop on the topics covered at the workshop to the Winchester Thurston Board of Trustees. This workshop would later become an outline for Winchester Thurston’s own Diversity Conference following the New Orleans, Louisiana Student Diversity Leadership Conference.
Ashley now attends St. John’s University in Queens, New York and is majoring in Psychology. She began interning with FAME in 2008 and continues to intern during her breaks from school. As a FAME intern, Ashley has participated in many FAME projects, including a letter-writing campaign to current FAME donors. Ashley intends to use her education to pursue a career as a psychologist in the future.
