A Randol Benedict
Prior to joining Ellis in 2009, Randie Benedict served 19 years as the Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills, Maryland an all-girls boarding and day school, preschool to grade 12. Over her years at Garrison Forest, enrollment increased from 480 students in 1990 to more than 600 in 2008.
Randie has served as an officer of the Secondary School Admission Test Board (SSATB) for the past ten years and most recently was the Chair of the Board. SSAT is a national and international testing and governing organization for admissions officers and independent schools. She was recently named the 2008 recipient of the prestigious William Bretnall Award by SSAT for exemplary contributions to the field, the highest recognition in the independent school admission profession.
Prior to her service at Garrison Forest, Benedict served in various admission capacities at Georgetown University, Washington, DC as well as at Cincinnati Country Day School. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools, the Baltimore Independent School Consortium and the Secondary School Admission Test Board.
Randie is a graduate of Denison University with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology and has an M.S.Ed. from Johns Hopkins University in Administration and Supervision of Schools and a certificate in Independent School Leadership. She is married with two children ages 20 and 17.
